EatMetal Highlights Creativity in Jewelry Making
EatMetal studio, in the
Monroe Arts Center, designs and sells jewelry, as well as offers jewelry and
metalsmithing classes, intensive workshops, and fun DIY jewelry workshops for
small groups that create an intimate and dynamic learning experience. Classes
are $60 per pair for 90 minutes, and all tools and materials are included.
Classes taught by
owner/artisan jeweler Elizabeth Tokoly or guest artists focus on basic and advanced skills for
jewelers and metalsmiths. Her goal is to enlighten students about the
importance of design, material, technique and craftsmanship. During the DIY
jewelry workshops, each student constructs a finished piece of jewelry. One
Thirsty Thursdays are special priced.
Create with Me is a series
of parent/child DIY workshops with fun themes such as a Valentine’s Day class
on February 8 and the St. Patrick’s class on March 14. Children must be at
least 7 years old to attend.
One Saturday a month is
Demo Day from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., when the gallery encourages the community to
view a jewelry or metalsmithing technique performed by the owner or visiting
artists. Eat Metal also hosts private jewelry events.
