EatMetal Highlights Creativity in Jewelry Making

EatMetal studio, in the Monroe Arts Center, designs and sells jewelry, as well as offers jewelry and metalsmithing classes, intensive workshops, and fun DIY jewelry workshops for small groups that create an intimate and dynamic learning experience. Classes are $60 per pair for 90 minutes, and all tools and materials are included.

Classes taught by owner/artisan jeweler Elizabeth Tokoly or guest artists focus on basic and advanced skills for jewelers and metalsmiths. Her goal is to enlighten students about the importance of design, material, technique and craftsmanship. During the DIY jewelry workshops, each student constructs a finished piece of jewelry. One Thirsty Thursdays are special priced.

Create with Me is a series of parent/child DIY workshops with fun themes such as a Valentine’s Day class on February 8 and the St. Patrick’s class on March 14. Children must be at least 7 years old to attend.

One Saturday a month is Demo Day from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., when the gallery encourages the community to view a jewelry or metalsmithing technique performed by the owner or visiting artists. Eat Metal also hosts private jewelry events.

Location: 720 Monroe St., Ste. E511, Hoboken. For more information, call 201-926-9620 or visit EatMetal.org.
