Bone-In Focuses on ‘Whole, Local, Sustainable’ Food
For the last several years, Bone-In Food’s mission has been rooted in three words: whole, local and sustainable.
Ron Mirante, the founder of Bone-In, says he started the company as a result of his personal health journey. After being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, Mirante shifted his diet to include only local foods: grass-fed and pasture-raised proteins along with organic vegetables.
A weekly farm-to-door service, Bone-In helps consumers reassess their relationship with food and stay up to date with where their food comes from, he says. They can taste meats, eggs, poultry, produce, perishables and other nonperishables directly from organic, regenerative farmers that focus on soil health and animal welfare.
The company is focused on minimizing food waste through on-demand purchases while continuing to avoid environmental and economical instabilities by sticking to an all-local, sustainable and seasonal market.
Bone-In is currently participating in the following area farmers markets: Asbury Fresh; West Orange Farmer’s Market; Princeton Farmers’ Market; and New Moon Market Series. Customers in New Jersey and New York can also make purchases online for home delivery.
