Local Love Box Is Slice of Home
Hudson County media site Hoboken Girl and Hoboken-based Happy Box have collaborated to offer the Local Love Box, a holiday gift box of products from small businesses in Hoboken and Jersey City. The boxes are ready to ship nationally to anyone missing a little slice of New Jersey this holiday season.
Happy Box was launched by sisters Ariel and Hannah Redmond as a way to provide custom-made care boxes online. They buy their gift items from mission-based, women-owned and minority owned businesses. Jen Tripucka, founder of Hoboken Girl, says the three decided to collaborate when she had to cancel plans for her annual in-person holiday market. They wanted to keep the “shop small” spirit alive, even in pandemic times.
The Local Love Box contains a mini seasonal floral bouquet from About Designs, in Weehawken; a pine-scented candle by Evergreen Summer, in Hoboken; a sea salt chocolate chunk cookie by Bang Cookies, in Jersey City; two greeting card options by Brittany Paige Designs and one by Happy Box; and a Jersey love magnet by Happy Box.
One dollar of every Happy Box sale will be donated to the Jersey City nonprofit WomenRising.
