Unique Dispensary Planned for Historic Hoboken
Once the 5,000-square-foot build-out is complete, it will include a retail area with a lounge area in the back, and an open-sky courtyard with a take-out window at the front. The plan by Nastasi Architects keeps the brick and arches of the original facade.
In a statement, Harmony CEO Shaya Brodchandel said the design will be unique. “Harmony’s Hoboken facility will look and feel like no other in the country,” he said. “We take seriously our responsibility to provide relief to more patients and to share the health benefits of cannabis with a new community.”
In all, New Jersey is expected to have a dozen medical marijuana dispensaries open by the end of this year. So far the pace at which new dispensaries are opening has not kept up with demand, as the number of patients with medical marijuana prescriptions is rapidly increasing and chronic shortages of medical marijuana have led to high prices.
