GüttenGreen Festival Celebrates Creativity, Community, Sustainability
The GüttenGreen Festival, a one-day block party in Guttenberg celebrating creativity, community and sustainability, will take place June 26, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Jackson Street between 60th and 70th Streets.
The festival is a fundraiser for Guttenberg Arts, which provides practicing artists with the space and time to develop their work and expand their practice through community engagement and promotion to curators, collectors and print and digital media. The organization’s multidisciplinary 4,500-square-foot artist studio was founded in 2014 and is equipped for printmaking, glassblowing, sculpture and ceramics. Guttenberg Arts hosts artist residencies, exhibitions, free and subsidized art classes, demonstrations and workshops, as well as a community garden program, community events and discounted facility rentals.
Support and sponsorships for the GüttenGreen Festival will go directly toward creating four scholarships for Hudson County youth to the Lindley G. Cook 4-H Camp; creating more mobile garden planters for the Guttenberg Arts Community Gardens; purchasing trash grabbers for NB Earth Talks volunteer trash pickup crew; and promoting arts, sustainability and environmentalism in the town of Guttenberg and its surrounding communities. All donations are tax deductible.
