Local High Schoolers Write Children’s Book
Roxy Hreb and Zach Fieldman, two local high school seniors with a passion for environmental science, know the value of environmental studies in children’s education. So they created a character, Eco the Elephant, who will be showcased in a series of books featuring a kid-friendly message and playful artwork by illustrator Zelda Jones.
“As members of the younger generation that will face climate change the most, we know the value of environmental education and want to inspire younger generations to take action,” Hreb says. “Our mission was to educate kids about environmental science and sustainability in a fun way. We created Eco with the hope that this cute little elephant will motivate children of all ages to take action in saving the environment.”
The first book in the series, Eco the Elephant Saves the Jungle, is now available for purchase in print ($9.99) or as an e-book ($3.99).
