Partners in Prevention Hosts Inaugural 5K Fundraiser
Partners in Prevention will host its first PIP Spring Sprint 5K on April 23, in Seacaucus. Whether you choose to run, walk or do a little of both, participants will be supporting PIP’s mission to improve wellness and prevent substance-use disorders and related health challenges in Hudson County and New Jersey.
PIP works toward this mission through education programs focused on community health; the Hudson County Coalition, a group of volunteers and professionals whose goal is to reduce youth substance abuse through policy change, providing information and community advocacy; and the Lindsey Meyer Teen Institute, which helps young people realize their leadership potential and become empowered to create positive changes in themselves, their schools and their communities. PIP is a nonprofit organization established in 1988 as the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of Hudson County.
Participants in the PIP Spring Sprint 5K can sign up as teams or as individuals. There is also a virtual race option for those who are unable to attend in person. Awards will be given for top finishers in the virtual and in-person 5K runs.
Location: 11 Millridge Rd., Seacaucus, NJ. Cost: $30 to participate in person or virtually. To register or for more information, visit pipnj.org.
