Sisters Danielle and Lauren Gambino were always “plant people,” but when COVID-19 hit, they found special peace in the simple art of indoor gardening.

“Reconnecting with nature and ‘greening up’ our city spaces in such a strange and uncertain time was calming and rewarding,” Danielle says. “So we wanted to bring that same feeling to others.”

The result is PLNTD, their house plant and apothecary shop in Jersey City. Specializing in self-care, positivity, wellness, unique home decor and, of course, house plants, PLNTD is “an urban oasis and a great reminder that no matter what life throws your way, you can always grow where you are planted.”

“We feature a curated collection of exotic houseplants, interesting homewares and thoughtful self-care supplies for personal growth,” Lauren says. “We highlight products from female artists and creators, boosting our community of women in small business. We focus on plant education, wellness and community.”

PLNTD now sells gift cards and also hosts PLNTD parties for kids, where every partygoer gets to paint and fill their own clay pot.
