Compounding pharmacies mix prescriptions that aren’t available in commercially prepared formulations. They can offer them in more convenient forms, such as capsules, liquids, creams, gels, nasal sprays, suppositories and even lollipops. Atlas offers more than 40 custom flavors, which can encourage picky children to take their medication, Ortiz says.
