The Party With Purpose (PWP) 5K is back for 2021. Registration is now open for the virtual event, which will be held July 13-17 at the location of each participant’s choice. The in-person race will take place on Tuesday, July 27 at 7pm on Pier A in Hoboken. As always, the race will be an opportunity to raise money for several good causes—especially those involving children.

An all-volunteer nonprofit, PWP has announced that it is “more committed than ever to helping kids in need in our community who have especially been troubled by the pandemic. Due to this, for 2021 we have narrowed down the scope for our charity partners to specifically have a greater impact on children affected by issues revolving around education, mental health/life skills/bullying and physical health. In 2021, we have granted 12 charities micro-grants ranging from $750 to $1,500.”

Among the many New York City-area charities that have benefited from PWP’s events are Family Promise, Community Lifestyle, Mile Square Theatre, TRUE Mentors, United Children’s Music Project and Hoboken Shelter. Since 2002, PWP has hosted more than 60 events or volunteer opportunities and donated more than $650,000 to area charities.
