Organic Good Market Combines Local and Ethical
North Bergen mom Angelina Capalbo says she created Organic Good Market—OGM, for short—as a project to demonstrate her skills while she was unemployed, and also as a way to expand on her journey as a conscious consumer.
“OGM is an online yet local retailer of USA-made, organic and eco-friendly products sourced from ethical suppliers,” she says. “It offers refills on many of the products that it sells, like shampoo, conditioner, body wash and laundry soap. OGM also features local brands, such as acARRE, a multi-use body oil made in North Bergen; Strange Bird, a luxury skincare line made in Leonia; and Fragrance with Benefits, a calming luxury perfume made in Hoboken.”
In addition to products, OGM offers pop-ups. Hosts save 20 percent off their products when the brand minimum is reached and earn 5 percent in credit on pop-up referrals. Businesses can also offer a pop-up and earn a profit from the sales or donate proceeds to an organization of their choosing.
