Citizens’ Climate Lobby Announces Virtual Conference
The Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) will host a Virtual Lobby Day Conference on December 5 and 6, with speakers and breakout sessions designed to help participants understand and advocate for HR 763, the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, introduced in Congress last year.
The virtual conference will run from 1 to 5 p.m. on December 5, and 1 to 4 p.m. December 6.
Topics will include Bridging the Divide on Climate Solutions, A Lens into Race and Climate, and A Closer Look at Carbon Pricing Studies, among others.
“The will to solve climate change is growing, and 2021 could present historic opportunities for climate solutions,” says Kristen Duda, who co-leads CCL’s Hoboken chapter. “CCL is preparing to move forward. At this conference, we’ll take a look at the road ahead.”
John Wood Jr., Hahrie Han and Shi-Ling Hsu will discuss what the 2020 presidential and congressional election results mean for climate policy in 2021, and CCL Vice President of Government Affairs Danny Richter, Ph.D., will share key elements of the organization’s 2021 strategy based on the election.
“We’ll stay true to our roots,” Duda says. “Some things will remain the same no matter what the election outcomes are. We’ll continue our nonpartisan, grassroots approach. We’ll still build the relationships that turn critics into allies, and allies into activists. At the conference, you’ll have an opportunity to hear about the work we do to reach out to, include and support all different types of people to reach their potential as climate advocates.”
