The Jersey City Challenge Race on April 23 includes more than 20 urban obstacles and challenges that occur over a three-mile course. Props include police cars and taxis for challengers to jump or slide over, climbing walls, a cinder block carry, monkey bars, tactical rope climb, beer crawl sprints and more.

There will be several waves that begin between 9 a.m. and noon to keep the flow going smoothly, and challengers unable to complete a challenge or obstacle must do 30 jump squats as a penalty. The Youth City Challenge Race starts at 2 p.m. and participants receive a finisher’s medal.

The Youth Challenge comprises a three-quarter-mile course with obstacles that also include a three-foot wall, cargo net, tires and hurdles. Kids will feel a great sense of accomplishment after they conquer the obstacles!
