Healthy Kids Running Series Begins in Bayonne to Counter Obesity
The Healthy Kids Running Series is a five-week running program in the spring and fall for kids from pre-K to eighth grade. The series takes place once a week with age-appropriate running events, including the 50-yard dash, quarter-mile, half-mile and one-mile runs.
Kids compete each week of the series for a chance to earn points. The boy and girl with the most points in their age group at the end of the series in each division receives a trophy. All participants receive a medal and gift bag. Races begin at 4 p.m. on April 10, 17 and 24 and May 1 and 8.
The Healthy Kids Running Series was created by Jeff Long, founder and president of Pattison Sports Group, to provide kids with a positive, educational and fun experience in the world of running and combat the increasing rates of child obesity in America.
