LaKoet Salon, in Jersey City, is now 100 percent vegan. The move is in keeping with the salon’s philosophy, which goes beyond hair and body care to caring for people and the earth.

“LaKoet’s vision is a sensational collaboration of hair design, hair coloring and custom-made hair and body care,”  owner Kitty Varco says. “We are committed to excellence when it comes to hair design as well as using sustainable, natural ingredients, recycled material and carrying brands that represent kindness globally.”

An eclectic salon located in Jersey City’s historical district, LaKoet uses Aveda and Eminence products.

“Aveda hair coloring is vegan and cruelty free, but it also has a protective blend of sunflower, castor and jojoba oils, which infuse the hair with that magical shine,” Varco says. “Eminence organic skincare is popular because it uses hand-picked fresh ingredients to create products that contain potent healing and beautifying properties. Many of these ingredients are combined with pure waters drawn from a thermal hot spring lake containing minerals and trace elements found nowhere else on earth.”
